History

We were founded in 2002 to keep ownership local – long-term – for select Minnesota companies when their owners retire. Our character has been forged by the experiences of 12 founding families who have been in business for generations. Our unique structure and holding environment enables our long-term ownership. Our rigorous governance practices promote the growth and ensure the sustainability of the Granite Companies. Our talented leaders and associates believe in and are effective at creating value for all stakeholders.
